In summer 2010 I went to NYC with Janina, my best friend Uta and my friends Eva & Florian.

We had sooo much fun....

I am a Country Girl... but got very excited about the Big City.

There is sooo much to see, sooo much to do!

We went to Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Wallstreet, China Town, Little Italy, Conney Island, Central Park, 5th Avenue, .....

But... the main reason why we went to NYC was the U2 concert.

And... it got cancelt because Bono had surgery in Munich :o(

So... we are going again!!!!!!!

The 5K was in Dallas and I was so excited!

There were almost 800 Runners.

During the Race I walked around a little to take pictures, when I came by this black Dragster.

I asked the owner if I could take a picture and he answered "yes, of course". Than he asked he "have you ever sat in one?", I said "no" and two seconds later I sat inside the Dragster.

New Years Resolution No.2

... after being in Germany for 3 weeks in November and eating all the things we missed... then Christmas with lots of cookies, cakes and dinners... many restaurant visits with big portions... late dinners with too much food....

That is the reason for my New Years Resolution No.2

- Getting back in shape -

Starting in March is a little late, I know... but better late than never! Right?

I started the day before yesterday with running for 30 Minutes, Crunches, Push Ups and 30 Minutes on my Crosstrainer. Same yesterday ... today ... and hopefully for 6 x a week for the next weeks/month.

Baby-Ducks

Today we found some ducks at Tractor Supply and bought two little yellow ones. They are so cute. They just moved into their temporary home in our house. It is still too cold outside and they will be with us as long as possible. (The picture shows the ducks in the box we got from Tractor Supply... not their new home)

Last Friday we bought a new project. The new "REIMANN-MOBIL" :-)

We had to drive 5 hours to the South. The inside is empty, so we got it for a good price. And we want to do the interior by ourself anyways.

The bus is a 1975.

Olive Garden

After eating at already several different restaurants, we went to Olive Garden.

We loved it! Their Salad and Breadsticks are awesome!

And they don't have any plastic cups (I hate Plastic!!!), they have real glasses!

We had Lasagne and Chicken Alfredo and it was very good!

We are definitely going again!

Last Saturday was Movie night at the Reimanns House!

No, not in the one we live... in our new house - Haus Hamburg!

We trowed in some cusions and pillows into our Fitnessroom... had candy... made Popcorn (sweet, of course!) and watched "Surfer, Dude" and "Pineapple Express".

It was a lot of fun!

We went to our first Gun-Show in Fort Worth.

Because it wasn't allowed to take any pictures inside, we took a picture outside at one of the signs, holding containers with Ammunition we bought there.

It was like a different world to us! Guns, Rifles, Pistols, ... wherever we looked. They had around 2000 tables and it looked like a Flea Market... just with different things ;-)

In October 2008 I startet my new job at the GAP as a Sales Associate in Gainesville. I love my job!!! My wardrobe is about 80% GAP anyways, so I can wear everything I already have at work. In May 2009 I was "Employee of the Month". I only work a few days a week, so it fits perfectly to my busy schedule with College, bookkeeping for Konny-Island, etc..

Well, actually it was my very first day. I startet College in fall 2009 with WebPage Design. Janina startet College after taking a "little" break. Her major is Film and TV.

To make this day even more special, we made "Schultueten" for each other. I made one for Janina, and she made one for me. And we both didn't know how they looks like until our first College day. So we had a little "Einschulung" :-)

Konny's Tour November 2009

Recipe: TIRAMISU

TIRAMISU

3 Eier

75 g Zucker

40ml Amaretto

500 g Mascarpone

250 ml Kaffee

250 g Loeffelbiskuits

2 EL Kakaopulver

Zubereitung der Creme:

Das Eigelb von den Eiern trennen und in eine Schuessel geben, nun mit dem Zucker und der Haelfte des Amarettos mit einem Schneebesen schaumig ruehren, danach die komplette Menge Mascarpone unterruehren.

Eiweiss zu Schnee ruehren und unterheben.

Zubereitung des Tiramisu:

Den Rest des Amarettos mit dem Kaffee in einer flachen Schale vermischen, nun die einzelnen Loeffelbiskuits kurz in den Kaffee eintauchen und in das Tiramisugefaess legen. Wenn eine Schicht mit Loeffelbiskuits voll ist, eine Schicht der Creme drueber geben, nun wieder eine Schicht Loeffelbiskuits und danach wieder Creme... usw.. Die letzte Schicht muss Creme sein, darauf dann das Kakaopulver aufstreuen und die Tiramisu im Kuehlschrank kalt werden lassen.

"Medal of Honor" weekend

The Medal of Honar weekend, now in it's seventh year, grew out of a "community desire to recognize our nation's veterans by honoring these living national treasures by showing them our best, small town American patriotism," stated Don Pettigrew, president of Gainesville's non-profit, Medal of Honor Host City Program.
Recipients will speak to local schools and community gatherings, as well as the news media while in Gainesville. The focus is on relaxed, casual activities which are "child-friendly" in order to allow the Recipients' message of patriotism, community involvement, and personal success in life to reach the youth.
Other activities include a military-theme parade, a golf tournament, a vintage, military aircraft fly-in, and each year oak trees are planted along a walking trail and dedicated to each Medal of Honor Recipient who has visited the community.
"Currently, there are 111 living Recipients, averaging 74 years in age," Pettigrew said, "noting that approximately 40 Recipients have passed away since his program begain in 2001.
On February 26, President Bush presented the Medal of Honor to LTC Bruce Crandall, US Army Ret, for his heroism and live saving efforts more than 40 years ago in the battle of La Drang Valley. His repeated flights into the Vietnam War battle to save wounded soldiers were protrayed in the movie, "We Were Soldiers."

Prom 1

My son Jason went to his first Prom with his girlfriend Raquel with her school. Let me tell ya'll, he looked sharp in his tuxedo. It was the first time for him to wear one.
Raquel looked like a princess, she was so pretty! There are such a cute couple!!!!
Prom was held at a big Ranch in Sanger. All the couples came with their cars, most of them were Pick Up trucks, and stopped at the entrance were somebody took the car and parked it while the couple walked to the entrance. Jason and Raquel came with a Hummer.
I met her parents for the first time and it was nice to meet them and talk to them!
I guess Raquel and Jason had a good time... and I know: "What happens at Prom, stays at Prom!" ....!!!!

IKEA

Spending a Saturday afternoon at IKEA is so much fun! We went to IKEA to buy a bed, dresser, nightstands, lamps, mirrors, kitchen-stuff, etc. for our guesthouse. I had a long shopping list and we left the store with three shopping carts after we treated ourselves with Hotdogs and Marabou chocolate! Next Saturday I have to go there again, because the bed came with three boxes + an extra box from another shelf and we forgot that box!!! Grrrrr..... ! But, I'm not complaining, because it is always fun to go to IKEA. And it's only a 1,5 hour drive. And that is like around the corner for a real Texan!!!

Jason's Pick Up

Since 03/13/2007, Jason is the proud owner of a nice red Chevy Pick Up truck. We went to Dallas, Fort Worth and other places to find him a truck and where did we finally get one??? In Lindsay, 5 miles away from Gainesville. I passed the truck on a saturday morning on the way to work and it had a "For Sale" sign in the windshield. So I called Jason to tell him about it. Saturday evening we met the owner at the truck and looked at it. We made an offer and left because the owner didn't want to come down on the price. Monday evening we called him again and made him the same offer and he finally came down.
Jason was so happy about it! His first truck! Now he needs a few more driving lessons and then he is ready to get his drivers license. The big day will be May 10th!!!
Until then I'm driving his truck because I still need a new transmission for my truck and Konny hasn't had time yet to fix it!

Saturday Night Live

We went out on a Saturday night to celebrate Jasons, Meiks and Roccos Birthdays!!!
Konny picked everybody up with his schoolbus. We were 11 people and it was so much fun to drive together. First we had dinner at Applebee's and then we went to Shooters, that's a Bar with Live Music in town. That night Kevin Fowler hit the stage (one of his popular songs is "Don't touch my Willie", see picture below!) and it was awesome. We were dancing and had fun! And it was Janinas and Jasons first time in a Bar and they both got a big "P" stamp on both hands. That way everybody knows they are not allow to buy alcohol.

Itsy bitsy Spider...

Sunday evening I almost passed out!!! After we came home from the Lake, I wanted to organize my room because I had a big pile of paper, books, etc. sitting on the floor for a couple of days. So I took a few at a time and put them in folders, took the next few, and so on. Then... I took a few more and lifted the top sheet and there it was... a BIG, FAT, BROWN, HAIRY TARANTULA... right in front of me on my cutting table! I started screaming and ran into the kitchen. Jason and Janina came to see what was going on. We put a big storage box in front of the table and Jason held the lid and I tried to swipe the spider with a broom into the box. Well... I missed! And the little critter ran under my desk. We put the box there again when it showed up next to the desk and I tried again to swipe it into the box. This time we got it and Jason put the lid on quickly and we ran outside to throw it far away!!! The whole thing took us 15 scary minutes. The Tarantula was the size of half of my hand. They are not poisonous but just to see it so close and to have it in my house was enough for me!!!

Weekend

We spend every weekend at Moss Lake to work on the Guesthouse. It has to be finished by April when our first guests will arrive. We still have enough time left and don’t have to rush!
Our little Duck “Daggi” is like a second dog for us, she follows us everywhere we go and wants to get cuddled.

Super Bowl

Like every American, we watched the Super Bowl Game too, Chicago Bears vs. Indiana Colts . We were for the Colts, but don’t ask us why. Jason watched the game at his girl-friends house and Janina and I watched it at home.

After Jasons Appointment at his Orthodontist in Dallas, Janina, Jason and I went to a huge store only with Promdresses. Janina and I got very exited when we entered the store because they had more than 100,000 dresses. Jason went to look for a nice couch to sleep on for the next two hours, while we went to look for dresses. After trying on various dresses in different styles and colors, we got very exhausted and left the store after two hours with nothing but cash… LOL.
And I had to spend a big meal for Jason at Chick-fil-a ... poor guy!!!

Senior Parent

I am a Senior Parent and it is pretty exiting about all the new things around us at this time. At the end of 2006, Janina had her Senior Pictures taken in a big photo studio in Fort Worth. Two weeks ago we ordered her Cap & Gown for her Graduation. Every second Monday a month, I attend a Senior-Parent-Meeting to talk about every event for our Seniors within the next months. The picture shows all the Signatures of all Seniors of the Class of 2007. See if you can find Janinas!!!

While we were watching TV, Janina got a package delivered by UPS from her Prom Date. He sent her 12 Roses with a card and a Teddy-Bear. Isn’t that cute??????

This upcoming Presidents Day is not a day off for Landmark Bank Bankers from Oklahoma and Texas. Because we will have a Training-Day instead! It is planned to have Training lessons and of course some fun too. They asked every branch to make a “Spirit Sign”. The best out of all will win a fabulous prize! I designed ours! So keep your fingers crossed for us.

my pick up truck is still broken but I got my hubbys big black truck! It is huge, compared to mine, but I love to drive with it! We are still working on the guesthouse to get it ready by april! And the weather is still... ugly cold!!!! I'm very homesick right now. I miss my friends in Germany a lot... A LOT!!!! I wish I could just take the next airplane to visit them for a few weeks!

Sorry about doing no updates since Christmas... I know, I'm sooo far behind.
We are already 20 days into the New Year!!
Well, let me tell you, our Christmas was fabulous. At December 23rd we
put up our Christmas Tree and it was my turn this year to decorate it.
Our Christmas dinner was at the 24th and we had Turkey, Potatoes and Red Cabbage. My hubby is the best cook in the world! It was delicious!!!
And guess what, Santa Claus came down the chimney and had cookies and milk and left a lot of presents under the tree!!!!
We must have been pretty nice last year! LOL

New Years Eve
One day before New Years Eve we put up lots of lights at the lake and
Konny and Jason built a sun-deck at the boat house. We had invited some
friends and we had a really great time!

MySpace
I'm addicted to MySpace!!!! After Janina and Jason already had their
own myspace... now it was my turn to create my own one! And, it was
easier than I thought! I had so much fun that I also did one for my best
friend Uta too.
My red pick up truck...
Finally, after weeks with having trouble, the transmission of my truck
died!!! I'm so lost without my car. I need a ride to work, I need a ride
to Wal-Mart - I always have to ask somebody... and I hate that!!! A few
days ago we went to a car dealer in Fort Worth but he wanted just too
much for a piece of crap. I can't afford a nice and fancy car. It has to
be old, cheap and, I bet, ugly! But I don't care how it looks like - it
has to work! This coming weekend we have to find me a car. Or one for
Jason. We are both looking for a car. He needs some more driving lessons
and as soon he turns 17 next month, he will be a proud owner of a
driver's license!!!
New Years Resolutions...
ok... it's on TV every ten minutes... and it is my biggest New Years
Resolution too: getting back into shape!!! Man, let me tell you, I
gained so much weight over the last months, I need to buy some new
clothes OR to change something!!! Since I quit my job in the casino and
started working in a bank, I don't move around a lot anymore. I got so
lazy and eat all the bad stuff! As soon I get a new car, I wanna start
going to the tracks again every day after work and to check out Curve's.
No chocolate, donuts, cake and all that bad stuff anymore. I'll keep you on track!

Saturday we felt into the Holiday spirit!
At six o'clock we went to the Christmas Parade of Lights in Gainesville. I just love it and it gave me the first Holiday spirit this year!

Santa Claus was last in the Parade and brought lots of Holiday spirit!!! (sorry for this bad picture)

After the Parade we were invited from our Real Estate Agent to the State Theatre for some Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Hot Chocolate and drinks and a Movie. We watched "Ice Age2".

Welcome Winter in Texas....
The weather is really crazy. Yesterday we wore T-Shirts, Skirts/Shorts and Flip-Flops and over night it became very cold!
Janina, Jason and me went to Dallas yesterday to got a check-up for Jasons braces and on the way back we made a stop at my favorite store: IKEA! I just love this store and I always leave with a shopping cart full of stuff! This time we bought new beddings, bedspreads, lamps, a footstool, fabric, plant pots, and nic nacs. While we were at IKEA it started raining. We know it was supposed to get very cold that night. On the way back to Gainesville (usually an one-hour drive) we got in heavy rain and storm. It took us almost two hours to get home! It was just terrible!
Today when I got up, the rain already turned into ice-rain and my car had a skin of ice. I couln't even get the doors open!
Janina and Jason went to school and only had two classes, then they were dismissed to leave. Konny left his company around 10am and our bank closed at 4pm. There were a lot of accidents and the NEWS says it is getting worse tomorrow! Let's see! I know for sure, I will get up very early to defrost my car!!!

Sunday (11/26/2006) we did a ROAD TRIP with Konny's School Bus. We had a lot of fun, good music and it was so comfy! We visited some friends for a late Thanksgiving BBQ.

I LOVE HALLOWEEN! I love to get dressed up in different costumes but my favorite one is Mortisha from the Adam’s Family!
Last year I had a knife sticking through my head and this year I wore a witch hat. Konny and I got dressed up before the first kids arrived. We had some scary background music with noises like chainsaw etc. and look at the picture below to see our house decoration!

Recipe of the week: Lemon Lime Cake

This cake is one of my favorite summer cakes. I got the recipe from our neighbor Ida.

1 lemon cake mix - according to directions.
1 pkg Lime Jello - dissolve lime jello in 3/4 cup
boiling water.
add 1/2 cup cold water.
let jello sit a few minutes while cake cools.
poke holes all over cake and spon jello overcake.
refigerate
1 pkg Whipped Cream - mix 1 pkg Cream Whip with
1 pkg Lemon Instant Pudding and 1 1/2 cups cold milk.
whip until firm and frost cake
refigerate

fuer Deutschland:
ihr braucht eine Zitronenkuchen Backmischung (nach Packung zubereiten),
1 Pkg. Limone Goetterspeise (mit weniger Wasser zubereiten),
Loecher in den fertig gebackenen und abgekuehlten Kuchen machen und die Goetterspeise hinein loeffeln,
Sahne steif schlagen und mit kaltem Zitronenpudding glatt ruehren und auf den fertigen Kuchen streichen, kuehl stellen!

Abwandlung: Das Lime-Jello weg lassen und vor dem backen Mandarin-Orangen auf dem Kuchen verteilen.

My new job…

Last Friday was day 10 in my new job as a Fulltime Teller! I started September 25th!
Right now I feel a little bit more comfortable about everything.
Things are going to make sense to me!!!! Almost everything is new for me because I never worked at a bank before. My previous job in the casino was way different!!!!
We still have 2 weeks training to go but that is a good thing for all of us! It feels so good because everybody is so nice and everybody cares about the others.

Our new little bank will open at October 23rd and all the employees are brand new in this business, even our Manager. That will be fun!!!! And when the first customer walks in and nobody remembers what to do!!! LOL

Monday, October 9th is my first holiday and I have a day off (it is Columbus Day). I already like my new working hours a lot more!!!

Banker Dress code

After I bought some nice business clothes for my new job I found out, the dress code at my bank is way easier than I thought. We can wear Capri’s, nice Flip-Flops (not the cheap ones!), Denim-Skirts and on every Friday, I can wear my favorite pants – Jeans!!!! Let’s go shopping!!!!

My birthday

My birthday was Saturday, September 23, and I had the whole week off because I turned in all my vacation days I had left from the casino.
And of course, we spent the weekend at the lake!
In the morning we worked a little bit at the guesthouse and in the early afternoon we had a sooooo yummy cake with my favorite icing, … whipped icing!!! And I got some presents from my sweethearts!!!! Guess what I got???? An Ipod nano. I love it!!! And next time when I go to the tracks for a run, I will take it with me. That’s so much more fun to run with my favorite music!
For supper, we went to Dieter Brother’s for a goooood Burger, some Curly Fries and Salad!!!!
I had a great day!!!

Tornado Watch

09/21/2006 ... 9pm:
We are under Tornado Watch until midnight!!!!
The area with the Tornado Warning is only 30 miles away. That scares me!!! After we found out about the Tornado Watch we secured everything in the front and backyard (the pool ladder, the swing, garden tools, etc.) and we were prepared to go to our storm shelter in the backyard. For Murphy we had some treats ready to make him jump into the shelter, otherwise we would have to carry him and that would be impossible (he likes “american doggy food” …. just kidding!!! *LOL*). Now we’re still waiting if something is gonna happen. If I could, I would watch the Weather Channel all night long, just to make shure.

Homecoming 2006

Today was the Homecoming 2006 Parade! It started at 6pm on California Street and Janina was on the “CLASS OF 2007” trailer.
She had a lot of fun!!!
Every trailer was decorated in red and white (the school’s colors).

My little girl is a senior now; it is her last High School Year!!!
I already went to the first Senior-Parent Meeting to meet other parents and to sign up for Fundraising, helping at the Prom 2007 and the Senior Brunch. It is a very exiting year for us, especially for Janina.

New Job = New Clothes

I really need some new clothes for my new job, I have nothing to wear!!!
Of course I have lots of clothes but nothing BUSINESS LIKE!
I love love love my Blue Jeans but that is a NO NO in a bank. And I can’t wear most of my short sleeve shirts also, because they show my Tattoo.
Well… I went shopping and got some cute grey pants with pinstripes in pink and a black Sweater from The GAP, a Twin set in Bordeaux from Old Navy, some shirts/blouses from Vanity Fair and one pair of cool black Boots and the same pair in brown from Payless Shoes and several pants, sweater and skirts from EBay.

Now I’m ready for my new job!!!!

In June, I had a job-interview in a bank. They called me a week later and told me, my name would be on top, but I have to come in for a second interview in a few weeks.
Two weeks ago, I finally had my second interview and it turnt out:
I got the job!!!!
The next day, I turned in my two-weeks-notice at the Casino. Saturday (9/16) was my last day at work and today was my “Bye Bye Party”. I’m really sad to leave this place after 18 month and I’m gonna miss everybody!!!
I don’t know if it was the right decision, but sometimes you have to jump into the cold water. I really loved the Casino… my co-workers, the lights, the music … everything! I will miss everything and everybody!!!

But on the other hand, I’m really exited about my new job. My first day will be Monday (9/25). It is a Monday to Friday job, evenings off, holidays off, weekends off (maybe I have to work one Saturday a month), it is Fulltime with Benefits and 2-weeks vacation … just perfect for a Mom of two Teenies.

Since I started my new position as a Supervisor, I had to work on second shift and on every Saturday. I really loved the people on this shift, but I did not like the hours. I left my house around 1pm and came home at night between 1 and 2am.
With my new job I’ll be at home a little bit after 5pm, because I work only 5 Minutes away from home!!!

Juchhuuu…. From now on we have Friday-Night-Football-Games again and Movie-Nights, and BBQ on Saturdays, and Sunset-Shopping, etc.!!!!

My Tennis Champs…

Janina plays Tennis since one year and Jason started this year. They both love it.
Last Tuesday (9/19) they had a Tennis match…

One of the rules at school: At the day of a tennis match, girls have to wear a skirt and boys have to wear Slacks, a shirt and a tie (at school all the shirts has to be tacked in!).
Jason didn’t have a tie at the first tennis-match-day and his coach borrowed him one… it was a green one with tennis rackets and tennis balls!!! We went shopping the next day before he had to wear a “Sponge-Bob”-Tie!!!

My truck …

We always had trouble with my truck from time to time!
It was always something else!
A few weeks ago, the kids and I went shopping in Denton. On the way to Denton the battery sign kept flashing and I took the next exit and asked at a small shop for help. It was the alternator! I got a new one and paid $160. Good bye shopping money!!!

It doesn’t really rain a lot in Texas… but what if it rains and your wipers are not working??? It happened to me on the left lane of four toward Dallas. Great!!!!
But last Tuesday (9/19) my husband fixed it!!!

And he also did something with my starter too. It took me forever at my last days at work, to drive from Gainesville, TX to Thackerville, OK. Usually it takes 15 Minutes but than it took more than 30 Minutes and my truck only ran 20-30 miles/hour. And on top of that it stopped several times. It was really fun driving with my truck!

MY HUBBY’S BIRTHDAY ...

My hubby turned 51 and we had a chillin' day with BBQ and Schwarzwaelder-Kirschtorte at the lake. No working at all. Konny hasn't even touched his tools :-)
After breakfast it was time to unwrapp the presents.

Then he got call after call... Busy-Birthday-Boy :-)

In the afternoon we had some visitors from Germany and a very good time!!! Thank you Heidi and Rolf for coming and we hope to see you some day again!!!

HOW TO BAKE A CAKE ....

Although i don’t like to cook ... i really love to bake.
Cakes, Cupcakes, Strudel, everything!
My favorite part is to decorate. Every Birthday Cake looks different. Once i made a „Black Forest Cake“ for Konny shaped like a Surfboard.
Since we live in the US, i watched the „Food Channel“ with ‚Cake Decoration“ Shows.
I would like to take a class in cake decorating but all the classes are in the evenings on days i have to work. :-( That’s why i bought a book. It really looks easy but, i can tell ... it’s not!!!!
Putting the icing on the cake was almost a disaster. Everytime i wanted to put icing on, pieces of the cake broke off. It looked like a mudpie. UUUaaaahhh ! To save the cake i put tiny icing-flowers close together using my decoration kit (see the pic below).
One of my co-workers now gave me the tip, to freeze the cake before frosting!

In July i got a new promotion at Winstar Casinos. I started my new position on August the 1st, as a Electronic Gaming Supervisor. I’m the „Boss“ from all the second shift Techs, Hosts, Hostesses, and Cashiers. You guys are awesome!!!! Thank you for your warm welcome on second shift!!!
I had to switch my blue shirt into a red shirt... uuuhhhhh!!!! Looks goooooood!!!

We`ve got married in Las Vegas 2003. And now it`s our third (3rd) Anniversary !!!!
I`ve got 3 red roses from my hubby, one for every year!
This year, it was on a weekend day and nowbody of us had to work and we had Dinner at Pizza Hut.
Pizza Hut is like a tradition now. After our wedding in the Little White Chapel in Vegas we had a georgeous tour on the strip in a white strech-limo. After we got back to our RV we walked to a Casino and to the next restaurant because we were soooooooo hungry... and that was Pizza Hut. (abtw... i took a break from my diet because i just got married .... *LOL* ... after the breakfast the next morning i bought a dozen of Krispy Creme Donuts :-))) )

After months without doing any sports i finally startet running again. I don`t like to run thru the city, or on running trails... my favorite place are the tracks at the High School. That way i count all laps together and i know how many miles i did.
Honestly, it`s between 1 and 2 miles right now, it`s not much, but it`s better than beeing a couch-potatoe :-)))))
And... i feel soooooo good after running.
Let`s go back in shape!!!
